More Etsy items....

So, I think funkygoodstuff did really well. Thanks, guys!! I've been jotting down ideas of other crafty goodies to put in the shop, and I can hardly stand the excitement. I LOVE creating stuff, just LOVE it. It makes me happy, and I love to be able to make something that causes someone else to feel giddy and excited when they receive it. Did that make sense? lol. Anyway, I have tons of ideas for Christmas gift sets and card sets, so stay tuned. I'll be posting these lil' felt goodie holders in the shop tomorrow. Here's a pic of hubby with his lil' chubby cheek girl. I need to get some sleep, so that's it for now. Peace and love my wonderful blog lurkers. Peace. and love.

My Etsy Shop and Fall Decorations

So, my shop is officially open, YAY!! I'll be posting a lot more things, funky good crafty things, in the next week or so, so keep an eye out.

I love fall!! It means the holidays are here, and that's my favorite time of the year. I have started decorating a bit. Here's a few pics of that and of my chunky lil' funky monkey. Talk to you guys later! Peace and love!!

Fall Cards

Around the second week of November I'm gonna be sending out a Thanksgiving card to my family with a pic of the kids in their costumes. Since the holidays always go by soo fast, I'm trying to get a leg up on as many things as I can. I'm just about halfway through with the Thanksgiving cards. I still have to finish Elyse's costume, bake a cake for Jace's school bake sale, make some treat bags for his class for the 31st, make Christmas cards, and I don't even want to think about holiday shopping. Man, I gotta get busy. Later today, I'll post my fall decorations......and I'll be posting stuff in my shop..YAY!

Yummies!!

I got some yummy packages yesterday: BG Mellow pp, KI Just Married pp, Love Elsie Jack+Abby pp, some AC and more scrapbooking stuff. Now, I just need to print some pics out and get scrapping. I also got a box full of baby clothes for Elyse that Rosie gave her. I need to get a thank you note out for that, and I got the cutest Kawaii fabric scraps on Etsy from here. I already made some cute albums, earrings, hair accessories, and canvas bags with it that I'm gonna put in my etsy shop. I was trying to get my new sewing materials organized and decided to make myself a cute pincushion. I'm lovin' mushrooms right now, so I made that, but it doesn't really work too well. I' having a hard time getting the pins in. What did do wrong? I stuffed it with cottonballs 'cause I ran out of polyfil. Could that be it? It's cute decoration for now, I guess. I'm gonna make another one stuffed with polyfil, and see if that was it. Anyway, let me go finish making the garlic bread. I'm hungry. Peace out.

My new hobby

I've found a new hobby, sewing. I'm now getting addicted, and I LOVE it! Now, I don't have anyone to teach me so I've kinda just been stumbling around, but I think I'm getting it. I bought a mini Shark from Target to start off, and it worked well for me, but then the other day my MIL brought me her Brother sewing machine to use. I think she felt sorry for me. Lol. Anyway, so I went to WalMart and got some fabric to see what I could come up with, and well, I made a dress!! Isn't that crazy? It's kinda off, but pretty darn good for me being a self-taught beginner, if I do say so myself. It looked too plain at first so I added some flowers to it. I also finished Cy's Barney costume. Doesn't he look way too cute? Well, that's pretty much what I've been up to the past couple of days. I'll post later, hopefully today if I get the new fabric I bought in the mail. I'm expecting way too many packages. Lol.

Bubble Mailers

So, I was making my list of necessary items for opening an etsy shop and one of the items was bubble mailers. Now, I had a roll of bubble wrap leftover from the time when Mars was in Iraq and I'd send him packages, so I started thinking about making my own. I started searching online and look what I found: How to Make Bubble Mailers I love this woman! So, know I've been making me some mailers. All I had to buy was the rubber cement. Yippee! I have some other things to post, but my boys are driving me up a wall right now. So, let me go give them something to do, and I'll post later. See ya.

Today.....

was good. I stayed pretty busy trying to get ready for the opening of my etsy store. YAY!! So stay tuned for that. It'll probably be another week or so. Hopefully sooner. I just want have a bunch of different items made. I'll be selling all kinds of yummies, gift tags, notecards, mini albums, marble magnets, pushpins, hair accessories, jewelry, etc. I'm so excited!!! Here's a few things I've made already. Now, they're not done just yet. The magnets will be in a cute little tin, and the notecards will have ribbon attached. Anyway, on another note, my little girl will not stop eating. She's gaining a lot of weight. I love my little chunky bunch. She has about a gazillion little rolls and a double chin. Well,it's better to be fat and happy than skinny and hungry. LOL. I'll post some more pics in the next few days. See you later, peeps!

Getting ready for Trick-or-Treating

So, I was looking around for ideas on what my kids would dress up as this year, and the price of costumes is crazy. Sure you find deals here and there, but still. I don't know about paying $20 or $30 bucks for something they're gonna wear for a couple of hours. Anyway. so I decided my crafty lil' self was gonna make their costumes this year, and who knows maybe every year. Since I have no idea how to sew, except well from Home Ec in 7th grade or something like that; I was kinda worried. I figured I'm a pretty bright girl, I'll wing it. So, check me out. In less than an hour, I made Jace's Fred Flinstone costume!!!. WooHoo!! Just call me Martha freaking Stewart!! Now, I just gotta do Barney and Pebbles. Piece of cake, dude, piece of cake.

My Poor Baby Boy

He's been sick since he was born , seems like. He's just now barely getting over 2 ear infections, and now he has a stuffy nose and chest congestion. I hate it when he's sick. I'd rather have him running around being a menace than feeling yucky. He always has a smile for me even with a temp of 102. Thank God my other two babies aren't giving me any trouble today. Now, let me go fold this pile of laundry on my bed.

I'm back

Well, I'm back and its been almost a year since my last post. Sooo much has happened...ummm...let's see...we moved to the Valley, we had a baby girl, Jace started Pre-K, we've been to the hospital about a million times, etc. But I'm here now and trying to regain some kind of normalcy after all the madness. Here's a few random pics from today:

Christmas Cards

Like I said this year, the Christmas cards were really simple. Just pp and rub-ons. But they're all done and sent out. Now I gotta go do some shopping and get the kids pic taken with Santa. The mall is gonna be chaotic. It's Tuesday, though, so hopefully it won't be so bad.

Christmas Decorations

So, as promised here's some sad little pics. I so need a new camera. I decided to go with blue and silver this year. I like it, but I think I need to add some more decorations to my tree.
I'll blog tomorrow, gotta go and get my scrap on. Peace.

Back from the dead...sort of

I've been MIA for awhile. Work has been psycho crazy. Whole lot of overtime. The holiday season in the airline business is no joke. Seriously? It's insane. I haven't had time to finish all my Chrismas shopping yet. I did manage to get the tree up and make a little centerpiece for my table. I'll post pics later. Haven't scrapped in forever except my Christmas cards, but they don't really count cause they weren't anything special this year. Just some pp and a merry christmas rub-on. Oh well. I gotta go shopping.....but I'm so tired.....I gotta clean a bit .......but I don't feel like it......I'm feeling kinda Grinchy this year. Is Grinchy a word? Oh well, it is now. I've been soo busy and tired that I haven't had time to actually get in the holiday spirit and be excited about the whole thing. If I didn't have my boys, I would've skipped the holidays this year, but for them I have to decorate and be jolly and all that mess. I sound so Scroogey, huh? Oh well, I'll work on getting into the holiday spirit today. :)

Thanksgiving

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. As for me, not so great. Family drama as always. Will it ever end? Lol. All I can do is shake it off and move on. Try to stay focused on what the whole day was actually supposed to be about, and that's being thankful. And I am ever so thankful. I have truly been blessed in so many ways. I remember reading a poem or something somewhere and it was just so cute. It said something like, I'm thankful for a hamper full of dirty clothes because it means I have clothing. I'm thankful for a sink full of dirty dishes because it means I have food to eat. Something along those lines, anyway. lol. And it really makes me realize that I take things for granted sometimes. Yesterday, I bowed my head in prayer and thanked God for all those things that I don't thank him for on a daily basis like I should. Like being thankful for family drama because it means I have a family. And it means I'm with them on holidays unlike so many of our supposed to be about and that's being thankful. And I am ever so thankful. I have truly been blessed in so many ways. I remember reading a poem or something somewhere and it was just so cute. And it means I'm with them on holidays unlike so many of our wonderful servicemen and women who can't be with their family right now. I'm thankful for them, and pray for them on a daily basis. Please show them we haven't forgotten about the sacrifices they're making every day and send them a little something for the holidays. Whether it's just a card or snacks, whatever. Just something to show them we do care and are forever grateful. Peace and love.

Sick

Finally starting to feel better. My boys were sick and the whole time I'm tending to them I'm trying to fight off my sickness. You know it's not "allowed" for Mommies to get sick. I'm still trying to catch up on my sleep, but I doubt that's gonna happen any time soon. The holidays are here and I have a ton of things to do. Right now, though, I'm gonna try to sneak off and get a 'lil shuteye.

Tired

I started a new job, and I've been so tired and sleepy, and mojo-less. I have tons of yummes just sitting on my desk waiting for me to come play with them, and I don't have the energy to do it. Nonetheless, I bought some new stuff today. Can't wait to get it! Maybe that'll get my creative juices flowing. Hopefully, 'cause I got tons of pics to scrap. I can barely keep my eyes open, so I'll leave you with a few things that I've made in the last couple of weeks.

EDIT: Blogger doesn't feel like uploading my pics obviously, so 'll try again tomorrow.

Some layouts

I've been scrapping quite a bit, trying to release some stress, and use up my evergrowing stash of goodies. Two of these are 6x6, one that's now on my fridge and the one with my dad and my boys is on my bulletin board in my scraproom. Speaking of scraproom, I really need to get it cleaned up and organized, it's a mess. So, that's on my to do list for this week along with a milion other things, lol.

Confusion

Praying to be able to see everything clearly. 'Cause my vision and my emotions are so blurry. Another entry in my art journal. Oh, and check out this video on the evolution of a model. I've been scrapping like crazy, so I'll do some posting later this weekend. Peace.

Fall Weather

I love fall. The days are so nice, and it makes me wanna just be outside and enjoy the day. Yesterday was an awesome day. We went to Kemah, and ate some catfish, shrimp, and fries. YUMMY!! We then went to ride some paddleboats. Well, I didn't get on because Cy couldn't ride. So, Mars and James took Jace and I just couldn't stop looking at my baby having so much fun. We walked around, ate snowcones, and watched Jace run up and down the hill by the Miller Outdoor Theater. At the end of the day, my heart melted when I had this conversation with Jace: Jace: Thank you very much, Mommy.
Me: For what, baby?
Jace: I had fun today.
Me: That makes Mommy so happy.
Jace: Ok. I love you.
Me: I love you, too, baby.
And then I bit my lip to stop from crying. Everything I do is for my boys. They are my reason to keep fighting and clawing my way out of this depression that has gotten ahold of me. To keep moving forward on my journey to a new and improved me.

Right on track

So, things have changed since I last posted. I got a job. I've been working out on a daily basis. I've started to read again. I've read My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult and Three Weeks with My Brother by Nicholas Sparks. I just started the Mermaid Chair by Sue Monk Kidd and hopefully I'll finish that tomorrow. I'm listening to music a lot more. I forgot how much I love music, and reading for that matter. It's been awhile since I've focused only on me and what I like to do. Feels good. It's a long road, but I think I'm finally on my way to happiness, and I haven't felt so excited in a LONG time.
