Working and working...

This week just flew by. I've been making new zippys for the shop...and working on a new item that should make it's debut next week. :)




I still have not finished my nephew's quilt...uggghhh. Need to get that done. I have a million works in progress that are eating at me, but I WILL get them finished......someday....soon, hopefully. Liam has been feeling under the weather, so I've been doing a lot of holding and rocking and singing and not much of anything else.

Looks like today he's feeling a lot better, so I'm thinking this is going to be a very productive weekend. Yay!!! :)

Burger cupcakes?!

Seriously, when I saw these on Bakerella my jaw just dropped. She never ceases to amaze me with her creations. She's my baking idol. No doubt. Anyway, I tried these out a few days ago, and they were actually pretty good. Nowhere near as pretty as her, but okay for lil' 'ol me. Here's the post in case anyone wants to try these. New Pouches in the Shop!

I finally got around to making some new zippy pouches with some of my fave fabrics! I could look at these lovelies all day. :) And a new item is up....embroidered pouches!


This one I made for Jace so he can put his pencils or map colors in. I'm thinking of making these for Jace and Cy's school teachers as a beginning of the year gift. Isn't that such a cute idea?! I'm also making one for myself but smaller to fit my ipod touch. ;) Anyway...gotta go finish a quilt for my new nephew. Peace.

FMF and LB&OM Raffle!

Tragedy struck a close friend and her family this year. Her husband was diagnosed with brain cancer, and is fighting for his life. He has been the sole provider for their family of 5, and so needless to say, things are tight now. Cindy has been doing a great job holding it down and keeping things together, but as a friend I wanted to help her out with something. So yesterday, I'm racking my brain..thinking about what I can do to help her raise a lil money..and it hit me. I can raffle off some of my most treasured and loved fabric...sigh. ((Yes, I def. love this girl.))


I was thinking of listing it on ebay, but then I had the thought of not only doing something to help my friend, but giving the chance to a FMF or HR lover to win these lovelies without paying an arm & a leg. So...I'm holding 2 raffles, one for a FQ of the Flea Market Fancy fabrics shown and one for the Lightning Bugs fabrics shown. Tickets are $5. MIA for like ever!!

Oh wow!! March was my last post?? Crazy. So, where have I been? What's been going on? Well...craziness has been going on. In April, my grandmother passed away. She was 97 years old and tough as bricks. She'll be greatly missed. In May, I had surgery. I'm slowly getting better, but it def. knocked me hard. In June, my lil' sister had her first baby. Yay! and Hurricane Alex came through...But now finally, things are starting to settle down somewhat. Things have happened that have opened my eyes and given me a whole new perspective on life. I liked the idea of living simply before, but now I know it's the only way to go...for us, anyway. I've been working on decluttering our home and our lives. It feels good. :)



Anyway, I'll be posting info about a raffle I'm doing for a close friend later today. It involves yummy fabrics. Heather Ross Lightning Bugs and Flea Market Fancy to be exact. I also have a bajillion ideas for new shop items. One in particular is perfect for back to school, but more on that later. So...stay tuned. :)

Yellow, Aqua Love

yes, I've been a bit obsessed with the yellow aqua color combo. It's just soo delicious. I just bought this ironing board cover and pad from CityChicCountryMouse on Etsy, and I LOVE LOVE it. I use my ironing board a lot, so it might as well have a pretty lil' cover. :) I also bought this purse from Jenna Lou Designs and I can't wait to get it. I needed a new springtime purse to fill up with junk.

The April kits couldn't have been better either. Noel Mignon has the Sonoma kit and it was lots of yellow aqua goodness, as well as the Studio Calico kit, which I can't wait to get. :)

I've also been working on a few new items for the shop. They'll be up tomorrow afternoon, yay!

We've Moved and things have been CA- RAZY!!

Yeah...the past couple months have been a lil' hectic, but I'm still here. Still have tons of boxes and things that need to be fixed and arranged and blah blah blah...we bought an old fixer upper home...not what I wanted initially but it'll do. This crafty chica will def. spruce it up and make it puurrty. ;) The walls were all white with peach trim and doors...eww. So, I've been painting and decorating. Soo much fun, but with 5 kids it's super hard...little monsters. I'm like 10% done, lol. The baby boys' room has already been painted pretty aqua color and I'm planning to accent it with yellow..yummy. :)



In other news, I just joined another Flickr Swap and I'm crazy excited about it. We'll be swapping a handmade home item! I can't wait to get my partner and start working on something for him/her. Here's my inspiration mosaic for my partner:

I'm hoping to make lots of cute items for the house now that we're homeowners, yay!

It's on 2010!!

Ok, so I think by listing my New Year's resolutions, it'll help me stay on track...maybe not...but whatever. So

1. Lose weight. (this one's been a resolution since 2004 but hey, maybe this year will be the year, lol. )

2. Simplify. I want declutter and simplify our home.

3. Step up the Etsy shop. Do more promoting, new items, etc.

4. Eat healthier. This one isn't really to lose weight but more for my family's health. I wanna buy at farmer's markets, eat meat only a few times a week. Decrease fast food!! Buy organic when possible.

5. Get dressed every morning. Some days I stay in pj's all day, and well that ain't right, lol. I do shower but just get right back into pj's.

6. Be a better wife and mommy. (as if that's possible, lol.)

Anyway, so that's that. I'm also planning on documenting this year. So, I'm using a 12x12 AC Modern album, the Studio Calico calendar pages, and I'm hoping to get the Months and storytime number stamps from SC if I can ever get them before they sell out. :P


I've posted some supah cute planners in my etsy shop which I think are just adorable!

Anyway, I gotta go work on some quilt blocks for the quilting bees I'm in. See ya later! :)

Crafting.....

like a mad woman. I wanna get done with all these presents by the 2nd week of Dec. at least. Last year, my etsy did pretty good during the holidays....and I'm hoping to keep it stocked with cute lil' things ...and well since it is the season of giving I've decided to do some giveaways. I might do one or 2 a week for the next few weeks! If you win....then that's one present off your list..or you can just keep it for yourself. :) Anywho...today I'm gifting this pretty lil' red and aqua pear pincushion! The thing is...it's not perfect. It was my first ever and well....it was made a bit sloppy,but it's still pretty cute. All you have to do is tell me what's your fave color combo. Easy peasy. Quilt crazy!

So...now that the kids are well again...I've started making Christmas prezzies. I have a quite a few lists going. My list taker is stuffed, lol. I found these printables and am loving them: Mom's got a latte do today list and the gift list.
Some things I need to finish is this from a doll quilt swap that's due by the end of this month.
