First Day of School!!!

Today, I sent 5 of my babies to school. Jace is in 5th, Cy in 2nd, Elyse in 1st, Jake in Kinder, and Liam in Pre-K. WHEW!!! It was a crazy morning going to all 5 classes and meeting teachers. My kids are awesome, though. All in GT classes and excited and ready to learn. Soo, unlike me. I hated school. I'd get so nervous, that I'd make myself sick. It was a nightmare. Makes me happy that they enjoy it, though.
We set up a little area to hang up backpacks in the boy's room. They have a superhero themed bedroom, so I printed out little superheroes to label their spot. They are just the cutest! I got them from funkymushrooms on etsy. No more thrown backpacks on the floor.
Each of the kids gave their teacher an apple with this little printable and a getting to know you card. I made them using images from this cute shop.
Feel free to download the free Happy 1st Day of School and Getting to Know You printables. ^_^ Well, I'm exhausted. It's 8pm, and I'm going to call it a night. Talk to you soon. post signature

Crafting & Mug Swap 2013

I've been crafting quite a bit. Working on quilts and making cute lil' baby gifts. I'm behind on quilts...and it's driving m crazy, but I'm determined to finish one by next week. Determined, I tell you!! It WILL be done.
One thing, that I have finished and BEFORE the deadline is the Mug Swap 2013 hosted by this sweet gal. I looked around for mugs at he store, on etsy, and I just simply coudn't make up my mind on what to give my partner. I finally decided to make one. There's tons of tutorials on pinterest on diy mugs, so I gave it a shot. I also made myself a polka dot one. Cause well....polka dots are awesome. One thing I did NOT know was that when baked, the color of the marker may change. My polka dots WERE gold...ended up dark green almost black. Not cool. But oh well, still love it. I looked at my partner's pinterest boards and noticed she had a live simply print pinned, so I decided to do that on her mug. I couldn't just send a mug, so I made her a hexie mug coaster as well. Yay! All done and off to its new home.
I've been a little hexie crazy lately, so I added a couple coasters to the shop as well. Bueno chicas, enough rambling. Certain children are asking for dinner, so I guess I'll go get that started. Yay. post signature

Summer Staycation and Elyse's Birthday

What do you do when you're in desperate need of a vacation but broke? You go on a staycation! You'd be surprised how much a change of scenery and a night away from home will do. We came back so happy and refreshed. Can't wait to do it again soon. ^_^
Elyse's Birthday was yesterday. We just had some cake and ice cream. Planning a birthday party next month for my 3 August babies. I'm thinking rainbow theme.. we'll see. Well, I'm off to finish working on some new stuff for the shop. Peace.

Ally's Shabby Chic 1st Birthday Party!

So yeah her birthday was back in June, but I didn't blog about it. I've been looking back at some seriously old entries; and I feel like this little old blog is kinda like a journal. A diary. An abandoned, dusty, and probably musty smelling diary, but a diary nonetheless. So..hello, my dear diary. I'll promise to not to take so long to post again. I've been posting more on instagram but I promise to put some time into you as well. ^_^
So, back to Ally's birthday..it was awesome! Chaotic in a "I have 6 kids under age 10, so decorating and baking is a ridiculous notion" kind of chaotic, but fun. I made a pinata for the first time. It took longer than I expected but was super east, and it cost me $2!! I followed this wonderful tutorial. I tried to do a shabby chic vintage theme...I think it came out pretty good, if I do say so myself. The hubs decided to hang it with a belt or whatever that is?? I don't know...I was too busy doing other things than to get upset over it at the time, but now that I'm looking at the picture...ugghhh. Lol.

Her party was small and simple and perfect.

Now, I gotta start planning the next one..3 of my kids have August birthdays... O.O

Summer Ready!!

I'm so ready for summer! I love having my babies home, and not having to worry about uniforms, homework, and school lunches. I'm ready for some laid back time with the kiddoes. Last summer flew by, and I feel like we didn't get to do much...so this year...I made a 2013 Summer Bucket List! I got the idea off of this site and I love it! I kept mine pretty simple and easily doable. Another thing, I'm excited about is a new app I downloaded called cocoppa. It's an easy way to add some cuteness to your phone. Things to know... it's only a shortcut to your app, so you can't delete the actual app, does that make sense? I just made them for the ones I use the most, and put the original apps in a folder. It does take up memory on your phone, so I wouldn't go buck wild adding a million of them. Just my opinion. Here's what my screen looks like now: Yay!! I love it!! Almost as much as I'm loving Instagram. Anyway, I really gotta go finish sewing up this quilt. Peace & Love. P.S. I posted some cute earrings in the shop. LOVE. I had to make a pair for myself, as well. ;)

I've been bit...

by the crafty bug!!! Yay!! My sewing machine and scrapbooks have been neglected forever!! And now, I've been sewing up a storm...things for the shop and things for little babies that have entered our extended family. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed letting creativity flow and playing with fabrics and paper! It is heavenly. Pure love. Besides crafting, I've been trying to spend as much time with Ally. The fact that she's turning one next month is leaving me with a weird feeling. She's my baby.....my last baby. I want to soak up every minute I can with her. We all are. Well, my lovies, gotta go clean something...anything. Peace & Love.

I'm back...

Hopefully for longer than last time. I'm now a SAHM mom. YAY!!! From working full-time, split shifts, and not ever getting to see my kids....the change is a very welcomed one. Though, I will say....as a mother of 6 under age 10...it can get a little hectic sometimes. Nothing a little deep breathing and meditation can't fix, though. ^_^ The kids are playing ball, and it's been soo much fun seeing them enjoy themselves. Only 3 are playing this year, but next year 5 of them will be playing....eeekkkk. It already feels like we live at the park as it is. But it'll be good. Making memories. My baby girl Ally is growing up soo fast!! It's just not fair. I feel like I'm rambling and all over the place, oh well. Oh! I've finally gotten into twitter. I had an account before but never really got into it. Now, I'm loving it. I post pics of what I'm working on, and things going on. Love. I've started working on my etsy shop too. I even made a facebook page for it. I have taken out all my favorite fabrics, and have decided to just start making stuff with it. There's no reason why it should just be sitting there. I want people to enjoy them as much as I do. ^_^ Well....I guess that's a long enough post about my return to blogland. I missed this. See ya later. Peace & Love.

Hello?? Is anybody there??

Well...if you're there...hi! It's been 2 YEARS since my last post...wow. Where did the time go? a million and one things have happened in my life since then...some moments full of happiness and love and some depressing and heartbreaking. It's been 2 years of a long, painful, dark journey of soul-searching, "self" discovery and of letting go...and I'm FINALLY HERE. Happier and more peaceful than I've ever been in my entire life. ^_^ So, the happiest thing that happened was I had a beautiful baby girl named Alayna Li meaning beautiful and strong. She was born a day after my 30th birthday. The best present ever. She's going on 5 months now!
The saddest thing that happened was the loss of my mother-in-law. She could be the coldest and meanest person in the world, but she was mostly a mama bear. She defended and took care of her family until her final breath. She was like a mother to me. She'd stay with me during my difficult pregnancies to help me with the kids and the housework. She'd listen to my complaints about her son and would get after him. She was really crafty, so we had a lot in common in that regard. She tried teaching me how to crochet, and as much as I tried I just couldn't get it. So, we both finally gave up and she would just make me whatever I wanted. ^_^ We'd go to Hobby Lobby and take hours just looking and thinking about things we could make. She'd laugh at my cooking disasters and try to give me tips and pointers. I'm going to miss her rice. It was soo good. When I was pregnant with Liam, I was super nauseaus. I couldnt keep anything down..and the only thing that would stay was her rice. She'd make a huge pot and bring it over. When I was pregnant with Elyse, I LOVED corn on the cob and watermelon. So, she'd make Mars and my father-in-law go find some no matter what time or day it was. She took really good care of me and would spoil me. She was an awesome grandmother as well. She'd give hugs and kisses and even discipline when needed. She'd never come over empty-handed. She always had either food or gifts or something to show us she cared. She'd speak Spanish to the kids and get onto me for them not being fluent. I'm going to work on that...We're going to miss her. I'm going to miss her. March 1945-November 2012. This is one of my favorite pictures. It was taken at the hospital in August 2008. I had just had Jake, and she brought my Lysie doll to visit her mama. Jake was a preemie and I was a lil down and scared, and she prayed with me....It was a good day.
Her passing made me think about the footprints we leave and the memories we make. It's important that I leave something for my babies and one day my grandbabies, so that they can get to know me, to remember me...to hear my thoughts and see my life...and what better way then a blog. So, basically, I'm back into blog land. Hello, world. ^_^
